“When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending.”

Courtney Fox, Founder

Courtney Fox brings more than 25 years of strategic and executive communications experience to Foxfire Strategies, a speaker coaching firm she founded in 2012.

A storytelling evangelist, Courtney specializes in identifying an individual or company’s unique story to help differentiate them and maximize audience engagement. Teaching both the art and science of storytelling, she empowers speakers to become the best version of themselves when they take the stage, from delivering a TED talk or a commencement address to a high-stakes internal presentation where budget and headcount are on the line.

Throughout her career, Courtney has focused on helping corporate, government, and association executives “lead out loud” by developing their narratives and refining their public speaking skills. Before founding Foxfire Strategies, she directed Executive Communications for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). A Schedule-C political appointee in the Clinton/Gore Administration, Courtney served as a speechwriter for the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She also worked with leading travel and tourism CEOs through the Travel Business Roundtable (TBR) and as Vice President of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications.

A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and two children who humor her by listening to her many, many stories.
